BioNoBis and JETA Molecular Awarded EFS Tender for Chimerism Monitoring

Guyancourt, France and Utrecht, Netherlands, 14 December 2016

BioNoBis (Guyancourt, France) and JETA Molecular (Utrecht, The Netherlands) today announced that JETA’s new QTRACE® Analysis System for cell-free DNA and chimerism analysis by quantitative PCR (qPCR) has been selected as the chimerism monitoring solution of choice by the Établissement Français du Sang (EFS – the French National Blood Service). BioNoBis won a four-year, competitive tender to supply JETA’s reagents and software.

The EFS is the leading supplier of cell and tissue therapy products to health-care establishments in France, enabling solid organ and hematopoietic stem-cell transplants to be performed on patients. Once patients receive stem cell transplants, they must be monitored at regular intervals throughout their lifetime to assess engraftment of the transplanted cells and the recurrence of residual disease. Chimerism testing is routinely performed on patients who lack molecular markers specific to their disease.

“BioNoBis is very honoured to be selected by the EFS to supply the full QTRACE® System. The multi-lab study demonstrated high sensitivity and accuracy for genotyping and monitoring testing results. The detection of DNA contributors in mixed samples for transplant recipients with our new innovative JETA Molecular product line is the best choice in terms of high quality products and pricing,” said Pascal Hervé, Managing Director of BioNoBis. “We are closely working to train technicians and biologists in the EFS labs. In parallel, we are developing new software features to improve traceability and data communication on LIMS. “Our intention,” said Pascal Hervé “is to become the leading company in providing chimerism testing in France.”

“JETA Molecular is excited to collaborate with the EFS and support the transition of their chimerism program to the QTRACE® Analysis System,” said Doug Bost, CEO of JETA. “The French were the first to describe the application of INDEL variant-based qPCR for chimerism analysis many years ago, so we are thrilled to have the opportunity to work with them. The QTRACE® Analysis System was well received by the labs and after a rigorous, multi-center evaluation of the competitive landscape, the EFS stated our QTRACE® System is “very significantly technically better” than our nearest competitor.”
